1889-O Morgan Silver Dollar. MS-65 (PCGS). This is a noteworthy New Orleans Mint Morgan dollar. The sharp to full detail to the central high points is of particular note for an 1889-O; here the definition is equally crisp toward the borders. Satiny in finish and attractively toned, the surfaces are also exceptionally well preserved with most areas appearing as pristine. Thanks to the release of coins from federal vaults from the late 1930s to the early 1960s, examples are plentiful in an absolute sense. Most are poorly struck with blunt high point definition, however, and many also possess indifferent luster quality or numerous abrasions. This issue is scarce in MS-65 and rare any finer.
