THE GEORGE SCHWENK COLLECTION A wholesome looking GEM. Frosty virtually untoned mint luster radiates on both sides of this well struck example. A small mark on Liberty's breast accounts for the assigned grade, but this is visible only with magnification. Of the Type 1 quarters, the S-mint is the scarcest, and this GEM is a nice looking example. PCGS 182, NGC 95. The most recent example sold in the 2023 FUN auction for $2,560, prior to that, one sold in August 2022 for $2,760. The current PCGS Price Guide value is listed at $2,850.
