- 1721-H French Colonies Sou, or 9 Deniers. La Rochelle Mint. W-11830. VF-30. 89.1 grains. Good light brown color, very pleasant eye appeal. Trivially granular, decent gloss on both sides, some horizontal striations on reverse. A hint of greenish verdigris is noted among the leftmost letters on the obverse. Reverse perhaps a full grade sharper than obverse, ideally centered with complete legends. A good looking coin with only minor little marks. A large internal die break is present over NIES on the obverse. Craige's envelope indicates that he had not yet attributed this specimen. PCGS# 158632. Provenance: From the Ted L. Craige Collection.
