详细说明: 1799 Draped Bust Silver Dollar. BB-152, B-15a. Rarity-5. Bowers Die State IV. Irregular Date, 13-Star Reverse. AU-58 (PCGS). CAC. OGH. The old-style PCGS insert does not denote the Irregular Date, 13-Star Reverse <em>Guide Book </em>variety, and coin #6878 on the insert is now used for the 1799 Draped Bust Dollar as an issue without reference to variety. Lustrous with a satin-to-softly frosted sheen, the original finish is nearly complete for both sides of this piece. Wear is light, indeed, and the devices exhibit sharp definition from an uncommonly well-executed strike. Original and mostly brilliant, speckles of olive-russet tinting are confined to the obverse field, and a faint planchet streak (as struck) in the center of the reverse is mentioned solely for accuracy. A lovely example for the grade, and a coin that is sure to appeal to the advance  early Dollar specialist.<br />     A most interesting variety, the 1799 BB-152 Dollar combines the Irregular Date obverse of the date with a reverse that was previously used to strike 1798-dated Dollars of the BB-123 and BB-124 varieties. The bold reverse die crack (as made) from the end of the olive branch to the border readily identifies the 1799 BB-152 marriage, and in this late state the present example reveals a plethora of additional cracks on both sides.
