- A GEM example of this "transitional" Indian Head cent pattern. Struck from regular 1863 Proof dies on a bronze planchet used from 1864 to 1909. Struck in medal turn. Flashy mirrored fields beam from all over, accenting the outstanding and beautifully toned surfaces. Blazing red underlies wonderful brown and magenta accents that are really brought out by a bright light. The eye appeal is really WOW! PCGS 20, NGC 7, CAC 4. The most recent sold in April 2019 for $5,520. There are just 2 graded finer and this one is so high end it should bring a strong price. Cert. Number 15912611 PCGS # 70454
