- 1855-C Liberty Head Half Eagle. AU-53 (PCGS). A honey-gold example with otherwise bold definition that wanes appreciably only over the central high points and along the left obverse border. The 1855-C is a median rarity among Dahlonega Mint half eagles, the mintage limited at 39,788 pieces and heavy commercial use claiming most examples. Finer than the typically offered VF or EF, many of which are also impaired, this handsome AU is sure to excite the advanced Southern gold collector. PCGS# 8262. NGC ID: 25UR.
