- 1934-S Peace Silver Dollar. MS-64 (NGC). CAC. Subtle pastel-lemon highlights drift over the highly lustrous, overall smooth surfaces. Rarest of the Peace dollars in Mint State, the key date status of the 1934-S is well known in today's market. Although the 1921, 1927, 1927-S, 1928 and 1934 all have lower mintages, the 1934-S (1,011,000 pieces produced) was not saved to the same extent. Much of the mintage was placed into circulation during the 1930s, explaining the ease with which collectors can obtain worn examples. Buying opportunities for attractive Mint State survivors such as this are rare, however, confirming the significance of this offering for the advanced Peace dollar enthusiast.
