FROM THE YOUNG-DAKOTA COLLECTION A SUPERB example, one of the FINEST graded examples of this date graded! Wonderfully and totally originally toned surfaces show off a bold, watery reflection to the mirrors. The obverse is awash in a swirling blend of pale lilac, warm honey-gold, and apricot-orange while the reverse is a more even blend of violet and orange tone. The eye appeal is exceptional in every way. Only 627 Proofs were struck. PCGS 15, NGC 13, CAC 11. There are only two examples graded PR67+. The other example to sell in auction was from our September 2016 Regency Auction's offering of the Flannagan Collection, which sold for $5,522. The current PCGS Price Guide value is listed at $8,000. Just one coin is graded finer at PCGS, a PR68 that sold for $17,625 in the March 2017 sale of the Blue Moon Collection. What a great example of this date, worthy of a world class Proof Barber half dollar set. We can see this SUPERB GEM bringing a very strong bid when the hammer falls. Cert.
