CHINA. Shansi. 10 Cash, ND (1919). PCGS AU-55 BN Secure Holder. CL-MG.114; CCC-661; Y-A435; Duan-3282; W-1225 (A-30(under Article XIV)). VERY RARE. Woodward (pg. 134) states "The modern mint, which is situated in the arsenal of Tai-yuan Fu, was established in 1919, producing ten-cash republican pieces of the design as designated in my Article XIV under the numbers 1050 up to 1060, inclusive. The unique piece bearing the name of the province was only a trial coin, and is not found in circulation, as few pieces only were made." In Woodward's statement he says "unique", he is referring to the design bearing the province name and not the actual coin itself. Well struck with lovely rich patina displaying a mixture of milk chocolate and mocha. Estimate: $1,500 - $2,000. Provenance: From the Q. David Bowers Collection. Ex: R. B. White. PCGS# 391364 PCGS AU-55 BN Secure Holder. 山西中華銅幣十文。 非常罕見。Woodward在其著述The Minted Ten-Cash Coins of China （原書譯名《中國鑄造十文銀幣》有刊誤，應為《中國鑄造十文銅幣》）第134頁中寫道："新鑄幣厰建於1919年，坐落在太原府軍械庫中，負責鑄造民國銅幣十文。本書XIV號文章中列出的1050至1060號銅幣均出自此厰。此版銅幣上鑄有省名，為試鑄幣，鑄量極少，並未流通。"伍譜稱其 "獨特"，是指其印鑄省名這一設計新穎，並非指這枚錢幣是孤品。鑄打精美，誘人濃麗牛奶巧克力及摩卡色銅綠。
