We believe this is NOT the Prouty-DeOlden coin that sold in Sheridan Downey's Mail Bid 32. Sharply struck with full definition on both sides, the obverse presents with a somewhat Prooflike luster in the fields. Richly toned with deep pewter and hints of amber-gold and slate-blue that come to life as the surfaces are rotated in a light. The reverse is frosty, with a soft underlying satin luster that is likewise richly toned. The eye appeal is totally original and very pleasing. PCGS 112, NGC 106. The most recent example of this rare die marriage was the Prouty/Meyer coin that sold for $5,581 in August 2012.The Prouty/DeOlden coin brought $6,063 in June 2006, as a PCGS MS63.
