- Undated (1837-1842) I Take the Responsibility. HT-72, Low-53, DeWitt-CE 1834-17, W-10-330a. Rarity-2. Copper. Plain Edge. 28.5 mm. MS-63 BN (NGC). Medal alignment. This richly original example exhibits blended steel gray peripheral highlights to dominant crimson-copper patina. Sharply defined with a hard, smooth, satiny texture throughout. Fully Choice in quality, and similar to the Dice-Hicks specimen, among others. HT-72 is a crudely executed copy of HT-70, the letter H absent from the obverse and the donkey's right ear under the letter F in FIRMNESS. Provenance: From the Aim High Collection.
