- JR-1. All 1811 dimes are from this overdate die, and they are quite scarce. Most examples that survive are lower grade, PCGS CoinFacts estimates a total of 250 survivors from an original mintage of just over 65,000. Probably lightly cleaned ages ago, the surfaces do retain some hints of satiny luster. The coin was subsequently stored in an album that imparted pleasing peripheral toning. Sharply struck for the date, this one has a very nice eye appeal. PCGS 7, NGC 6. The current CU value is listed at $2,250 and the most recent example to sell realized $1,680 in April 2018 -the first since July 2011. Clearly they do not appear with any frequency, making this an important opportunity for the collector. Cert. Number 35429842 PCGS # 4487
