- 1800 Draped Bust Cent. S-197. Rarity-1. AU-50 (NGC). A handsome example, boldly defined and with pleasing medium-brown surfaces that are smooth, glossy, and that retain traces of the coin's original frosty texture. 1800 is a less common date among the Draped Bust cents, especially so at grades higher than EF. This is the popular "Q" variety, so-named for the die lumps through the first 0 in the date. A late die state with additional die breaks at BE of LIBERTY and smaller die cracks and chips elsewhere on both sides. Overall excellent eye appeal thanks to the even color, strong strike, and complete lack of distracting marks. Provenance: From Heritage's April 2018 CSNS Signature Auction, lot 3078. PCGS# 1449.
