- 1860 Liberty Head Eagle. EF-40 (PCGS). OGH. Handsome deep honey-rose color blankets boldly defined EF surfaces. Direct lighting calls forth not only faint remnants of original mint luster, but also iridescent undertones of reddish-rose and powder blue. Wispy handling marks are noted, more so for the obverse than the reverse, including a shallow scuff in the field before Liberty's chin. An underrated No Motto Liberty Head eagle from the Philadelphia Mint, the circulation strike 1860 was produced to the extent of just 15,055 pieces.
