FROM THE ISSAQUAH ESTATE HIGH END. We have seen many 1844 Mint State Seated Dollars. We do very much consider this coin to be above average. Also, the rarity of this date can't be over hyped. Boldly semi-prooflike to nearly fully prooflike surfaces are something you do not have to imagine. Save for one area of small cuts/scrapes in the upper right obverse field, the surfaces have only light scattered ticks that you need a strong glass to see. To the naked eye this coin looks clean. A bold glowing luster and the flash of the mirrors make this coin visible from feet away. The obverse has a totally original mix of deeper golden brown/reddish gold. The reverse has big slashes of navy/purple toning. There also is good cameo contrast on the obverse. Miss Liberty and the details are frosted and are fully sharply struck. The eye appeal is great! PCGS 8, NGC 2, CAC 4. PCGS has graded only 4 coins higher. The last one of these to sell in auction brought $12,925 in July 2017. The current Collectors Universe value is $12,000. A PCGS CAC MS64 sold in auction for $41,125 back in 2013. One more fact: we placed this coin with Issaquah back in 2009. This is a very hard to find date in nice and true MS like this! Cert.
