- A truly MAGNIFICENT and totally original SUPERB GEM 1905 Proof half dollar! WOW! Tied for second FINEST GRADED at PCGS with just two graded higher in all designations (a single PR68 and a single PR68 CAM are the only ones graded higher than this majestic example). Intensely reflective, watery-glassy mirrored fields have a bold flash. The mirrors are ultra clean and have a sensational clarity below a vivid melange of dappled iridescent toning. Multiple shades of blues, violets, and golds are distributed all over both sides, enhanced by the vivacity and brilliance of the FLAWLESS mirrored fields below. The eye appeal is exceptional! Only 727 Proofs were struck. PCGS 16, NGC 13, CAC 7. There are only three in PR67+ and as mentioned just a single PR68 in the designation. The most recent PCGS PR67+ CAC sold in July 2021 for $7,200. The current PCGS Price Guide value is $9,000. The PR68 last sold in the October 2014 sale of the Gene Gardner Collection, and in today's market would bring in excess of $25,000!
