Scarce and desirable Carson City Seated Dollar Medium gray toning and moderate but even wear characterize this early ‘CC’ Dollar. Despite the obvious wear all major design elements are intact. As one might expect, there are numerous circulation marks, but they blend in neatly and are unobtrusive. The Carson City Mint issued Seated Dollars only from 1870-1873; of the final 3, the 1872 has the highest mintage of a mere 3,150. PCGS 10, NGC 4. Valued in the PCGS price guide at $3,100. Last auction record was $2,640 in November $2,640. A tough coin to locate in any condition; only 4 auction appearances for this grade in 11 years.
