1860 Liberty Eagle. MS-64 (PCGS). With a pedigree to the collection of Harry W. Bass, Jr., this incredible coin, the finest known, is again available on the marketplace. Neither PCGS nor NGC has graded another any finer than MS-61!  Rich, semi-prooflike sheen illuminates the red-orange patina that adorns each side of this sharply struck near-Gem. A couple of minor surface flaws keep it from grading as a Gem, but the splendid visual appeal of this piece simply cannot be overstated. Combining an extraordinary grade, excellent eye appeal and an incomparable pedigree, this 1860 eagle cannot be matched or even closely approached. It may be a long time before such an opportunity recurs.
