- FRANCE. Copper 5 Francs Essai (Pattern), L'an 10 (1802). Paris Mint. Napoleon I. PCGS Specimen-64 BN Gold Shield. Maz-611. Sharply struck with nice even brown surfaces and good eye appeal. While VERY SCARCE as a type and scarcely offered, we actually just sold another example graded SP-63 BN by PCGS in our 2019 NYINC auction for $900. This example, being the single finest graded at PCGS, should receive as much, if not more attention from collectors of Napoleonic period issues. Estimate: $700 - $1,000.
