FROM THE YOUNG-DAKOTA COLLECTION. Both sides of this wonder-coin are richly toned with golden hues, that deepen and blend with navy blue and lime-green accents. The reverse boasts aqua-teal and crimson-red tone that is very high end! The mirrors are intensely reflective under the toning, giving off a blazing flash that brings out the subtle shades of this amazing coin. The surfaces are PRISTINE and totally flawless below the amazing blend of color! The first year of mintage for the series, the mintage of 1,245 was the highest for the Proof Barber quarters. This marvelous example last sold in an OGH, which makes us believe that it was part of a group of SUPERB Barber Proofs that came to market in the early to mid 1990s. PCGS 5, NGC 15, CAC 5. In February 2013, this perfect type coin brought $15,864. Since then, APRs have been lower, but the quality and eye appeal of those examples do not match the SUPERB, stunning traits that this one does. The current Collectors Universe value is listed at $10,500 and it would not be a surprise to us if the winning paddle was in the air when an even higher bid is called. Good luck! Cert.
