1903-S Liberty Double Eagle. MS-65 (PCGS). Tied at PCGS with a dozen as one of the finest seen, this gorgeous Gem 1903-S double eagle displays rich luster, a solid strike and attractive surfaces. Rich orange-gold and rose toning invests the piece with a lovely, original appearance. While some dates and mints are available at the Gem level of preservation, the 1903-S is not often found at this level, and extensive searching and patience are required to obtain one. This is a delight for the specialist or type collector who desires a truly beautiful coin.
