- EX SIMPSON. Same design types as the J-700 above, this Standard Silver quarter was struck in Aluminum with a reeded edge, rated as R-7+, with perhaps 4-6 examples extant. Exceptionally rare. Both sides display deeply mirrored reflective fields that contrast nicely with the frosty devices. As is common with coins struck in this metal, there are some minor flecks noted, but overall very nice. PCGS 1, NGC 0. There are only 3 graded in total at PCGS, one in PR61, one in PR64, and this one. It has never been in auction. The most recent comp is the PR64 that sold for $6,900 back in 2008. PCGS does not list a value, but the 10th Edition of Judd suggests a retail value of $4,500. This is an incredibly rare pattern, and a great example as to what great values patterns are. Think about other series; are there any other series that have been as extensively studied as patterns that you can have a type with fewer than a half dozen for such a low price? There is so much upward potential here! Certification Number 30931298 PCGS # 535101
