- 1873 Liberty Seated Half Dime. Proof-64 Cameo (PCGS). This peripherally toned beauty also offers sharp striking detail and appreciable field to device contrast. Among the many provisions of the omnibus Act of February 12, 1873 was the abolition of the half dime, the denomination no longer necessary with the nickel five-cent piece seeing more widespread usage.
