D.W. COLLECTION. What a cool coin! It is hard to imagine how this piece managed to survive not only the Civil War, but 155 years in such a remarkable state of preservation! Superior surfaces are exceedingly clean and have satiny smooth surfaces. Only with a really strong glass can you find a frost break/light scuff or two (really well hidden). A strong luster shows off the original pretty shades of gold/pale green/pale orange swirl evenly all over. There are NO spots or discoloration's. Miss Liberty and every detail are frosty and are so fully struck they almost look 3-D! The eye appeal is fantastic! PCGS 7, NGC 8, CAC 8. The last (and only) PCGS CAC MS67 1862 to sell in auction brought $10,575 in August 2015.
