THE BOYLSTON COLLECTION BLINDING WHITE luster and frost are a choice accent to razor sharp motifs. The outside border is enhanced by a very faint trace of golden toning. Under a loupe a couple of contact marks are noted for accuracy. One on Liberty’s cheek and another near her left shoulder. There is a faint toning spot in the right obverse field. Beginning in April 1873, each half dollar was to bear arrows at the date to indicate the change in weight by an increase of just .06 grs. Then inexplicably, it was ordered by Mint Director Linderman that the arrows should be dropped from the date beginning in January 1875. PCGS 51, NGC 23. PCGS Price Guide is $1,750.
