FROM THE FORMULA 1 COLLECTION. Earlier ex Oliver and Greensboro Collections. One of the absolute FINEST examples of the date that survives, just one example, the Duckor coin is graded finer at MS67+. This one has a marvelous, original blue-teal toning with interspersed traces of rose and pewter-silver hues throughout. Stunning mint luster blooms on both sides accenting the richness of the melange of color. Identifying this SUPERB GEM for all times is a fingerprint on the obverse, which blends perfectly well with the vivacity of the luster and toning. Every detail is sharply struck and shows off an amazing boldness of definition. The surfaces are pristine and even using a strong glass, we cannot find a single contact mark of any kind worthy of mention. The originality of this impressive, world class, high end coin makes it an ideal choice for the FINEST Registry Set of Barber halves. PCGS 2, NGC 0, CAC 3. There is a single MS67+ finer, which is also CAC approved. In its first auction appearance, as part of the Oliver Collection in August 2011, this beautiful coin realized $29,900; when sold as the Greensboro Collection it realized $17,625. The current PCGS Price Guide value of $23,500 is the average of these two APRs. The Duckor MS67+ CAC sold for $46,000 in the 2010 ANA auction.
