URUGUAY. 20 Centesimos, 1840. Montevideo Mint. Republic. PCGS AU-53 Brown. KM-2.1; Antunez-2.1.2. Thick planchet/medal alignment. From a mintage of only 2,125 pieces, this fine survivor is chocolate brown in color with mottled charcoal patina. The wear is light and unobtrusive for the grade, and the coin, well produced for such a crude issue, has both a perfect planchet and a sharp strike. Estimate: $400 - $600.
