- Otherwise brilliant surfaces with delicate champagne-gold and powder blue iridescence engaging the borders. Both sides are lustrous and frosty, the fields revealing fine die polish lines and bold clash marks, both of which features are as struck. Circulation strike silver three-cent production in 1866 amounted to just 22,000 pieces, examples of which are seldom offered even in circulated grades. In Mint State this issue is rare, and this is an especially nice offering at the BU grade level.
