详细说明: 1878-CC Seated Liberty Half Dollar. AU-58 (PCGS). One of the rarities of the Seated half dollar series, the 1878-CC is somewhat overshadowed by it's San Francisco sister, but still deserves considerable attention in its own right. The mintage of 62,000 was tiny, many issues of this period exceeded a million pieces from other mints. Furthermore the Carson City Mint was in an area where these coins were not saved, and those that do survive show considerable circulation on their devices. Here is a magnificent exception, the surfaces retain a fair amount of luster, the strike is sharp and the surfaces are free of distracting nicks or scratches. While the PCGS <em>Population Report</em> shows 13 mint state examples, there is some duplication in these numbers and the true number at this grade level is less. One of the finest examples to survive and doubtless in the condition census of the top dozen at this grade level.
