- This is a glorious GEM Proof Barber quarter. The fields are sleek, smooth, with a bold watery reflective brilliance. The underlying reflection flashes below a dappled multicolored patina that attests to long term storage in the original tissue paper of issue. The surfaces are clean and free of lines or marks of any kind. Clearly this is a gorgeous coin for the collector. Only 545 Proofs were struck. PCGS 36, NGC 29, CAC 6. There are just 2 in PR65+ at PCGS, none at NGC. The current PCGS Price Guide value is $2,150 and the CAC CPG value ranges from $1,720 in PR65 to $2,400 in PR66.
