详细说明: Vibrant Superb Gem Cameo Proof-68 1909 Barber Half Dollar 1909 Barber Half Dollar. Proof-68 Cameo (NGC). Clearly one of the very finest certified of this elusive date, and further enhanced by the Cameo contrast. Of course the surfaces are virtually perfect in their preservation, with nary a nick or line to be found on either the delicate mirror fields or frosted devices. Through the past quarter century, NGC has awarded this lofty grade level to a mere three examples of this date, each tied as the finest seen by that service. Mintage for the year ran the counter to 550 pieces only. In terms of quality and eye appeal, the present offering is as nice as any specialist could hope to obtain. Numismatic Reflections by Q. David Bowers An ultra grade example of this popular half dollar type. This superb Gem 1909 will attract a wide audience of bidders. While the Proof-68 grade level is at once rare and expensive, on today’s market a very nice collection of Proof Barber halves from 1892 to 1915 can be formed at the Proof-64 and Proof-65 levels given a degree of connoisseurship to assure excellent eye appeal.
