- 1876-S Liberty Head Eagle. EF-45 (PCGS). Gorgeous rose-gold hues dominate the complexion of this important half eagle, with original patina present in select areas. The remaining luster is considerable and blankets most regions with a satiny, nearly reflective texture. Smooth and without distractions, this piece offers a coalescence of strong eye appeal and technical superiority. Even in Choice EF condition, this lovely piece approaches condition census preservation for this Centennial issue. With just 5,000 pieces struck, the 1876-S eagle boasts the second lowest mintage of the San Francisco Mint issues and is unknown above Choice AU.
