- (t) CHINA. Chihli (Pei Yang). 3.6 Candareens (5 Cents), Year 23 (1897). PCGS AU-53 Gold Shield. L&M-448; K-190; KM-Y-61.2; WS-0615. This lovely little minor issue exhibits a better strike than normally encountered, though a bit of flatness is still noticed in the face with plenty of remaining luster in the protected areas. The obverse displays a soft gray color with a slight golden hue while the reverse shows richer sunset hues. This pleasing example is sure to be a welcome addition to the next collection it enters.
