This is a gorgeous O-112, noted for its large 3 in the date and ranks among the FINEST KNOWN for the date and the die marriage. The 5th edition Condition Census is listed as 67,65,65,65,64 and another MS65+ sits at the top of the AMBPR listing. This sensational GEM displays the classic "Friend" look. When we offered the Dale Friend estate coins, we noted how each coin he sought had a similar look, which is always hot. A sensational luster rolls boldly on both sides, which are bathed with pastel apricot rose, sky-blue, lilac, and teal iridescent tones. Sharply struck, all the devices are crisply rendered from an exacting blow from the dies. The eye appeal is incredible! Ex Dale Friend Collection; Perfection Collection. PCGS 10, NGC 8, CAC 3. There are just three in MS65+ and two finer. We cannot find this coin's prior pedigree, but it was replaced in the Dale Friend Collection by the MS66 coin we sold in May 2022 Regency Auction for $70,500. When figuring your bids, realize that no CAC-approved MS65 or MS65+ has sold in auction and the last MS65+ sold four years ago, thus the published levels are just not correct.
