This magnificent SUPERB GEM is about as perfect as any collector could ever hope to own! Only 18,000 examples were struck during the height of the Civil War, and this MS67+ is tied for SECOND HIGHEST GRADED at PCGS. This is one of the very finest known and topped by no more than seven MS68s seen between both services. An elegant antique blue, rose and champagne toning graces the obverse, while the reverse is more brilliant silver with deep blue and russet to the edge of the wreath. Outstanding surfaces are boldly struck throughout with a high wire edge visible around both sides. Truly a delight to behold! WOW! PCGS 18, NGC 15, CAC 12. There are two in MS67+ and just four are graded MS68 finer. This coin sold most recently in August 2020 for $5,280 and before that, it brought $5,758 in our October 2015 Regency Auction. The current PCGS Price Guide value is listed at $6,000. NOTE, the BigMo Collection coin, the most recent MS68 to sell, brought $22,325 in our July 2020 Regency Auction. Worthy of placement in a fabulous set of half dimes, Civil War coins, or a SUPERB type set. Cert. Number 25032435 PCGS # 4382.00
