详细说明: 1904 Liberty Head Eagle. JD-1, the only known dies. Rarity-5-. Proof-58 (PCGS). CAC. A beautiful example for the assigned grade, this piece exhibits full striking detail and a nearly complete cameo finish. There is no evident wear, only concentrations of wispy marks on Liberty's portrait and, especially, in the fields on both sides that explain the Proof-58 grade from PCGS. CAC approval is fully justified here, as this is an undeniably original specimen that is just a whisper away from a Proof-60 rating. One of just 108 Proofs struck for the date, with an estimated half surviving today. This piece almost certainly found its way into commerce, either as an unsold Proof disposed of by the Mint or release from the collection of an early numismatist who no longer valued the coin as a collectable.
