- This is a lovely and original CHOICE Mint State example of this popular Doubled Die obverse variety. Ample original red color and hints of golden-orange tone clings to soft chocolate brown toning. Well struck and unconserved, this coin is purely original. We do note a tiny mark in the obverse field and a few tiny flecks on the reverse which account for the assigned grade, but did not preclude CAC approval. PCGS 268, NGC 175, CAC 126. The last one to sell brought $7,200 in July 2022 and before that, one sold for $4,750. Even a non-CAC PCGS coin sold in August 2022 for $6,600. The PCGS Price Guide value is listed at $5,250 and the CAC CPG is $5,400. A very popular and collector friendly grade that will delight any one. Cert. Number 45936980 PCGS # 2825
