- D.W. COLLECTION. A superb, totally original GEM Proof Trade dollar. Richly toned, particularly at the rims, forming a frame of beautiful blue, burnt orange, violet, and gold round high end, awesome silver surfaces. The mirrors are deeply reflective and contrast beautifully against the sharply struck, highly frosty devices. The visual effect is nothing short of stunning. A scarce, proof only year that saw a mintage of only 1,097, the present coin is among the top dozen CAMEOs graded by PCGS. PCGS 8, NGC 10, CAC 6. This coin last sold in the 2010 ANA auction where it realized $16,100. Since then two PCGS/CAC coins sold in auction, one in April 2013 for $30,550 and the other in the 2014 FUN auction for $15,863.
