- THE BOYLSTON COLLECTION PART II Ex Lemus Collection, as noted on the insert. One of the "transitional" patterns struck dated 1861 to 1865 featuring a regular Proof obverse die, paired with a reverse that bears the motto GOD OUR TRUST in the field above the eagle. This is likely the FINEST KNOWN of this Rarity-7- issue, struck in copper with a reeded edge. A glorious SUPERB GEM! Ultra smooth mirrors in the fields are a brick red with violet, teal and blue overtones. The flash is nearly blinding and the contrast between the razor sharp devices and the liquid mercury like fields is bold. The definition looks like a medal, not a coin. WOW! The surfaces are essentially without flaw and even with a powerful glass, we cannot find any thing to point out as having an impact on the OUTSTANDING eye appeal. Ex Stack's December 1987 auction, lot 1018; Lemus Collection, The Queller Family Collection, Part 2, Heritage, 2009 FUN, lot 1587; Heritage, August 2012, lot 4348. PCGS 0, NGC 1. This marvelous GEM sold for $6,463 in 2012. More recently a PCGS PR65 RB sold for $9,106 in June 2014. Unpriced in the Collectors Universe Price Guide, at PR66 RB, it is listed at $10,000 in PR65 RB. This is an incredibly RARE Seated half dollar Pattern that will delight any collector. Cert. Number 3314516-004 PCGS # 12109
