- Only a single pair of dies was used to strike the entire mintage of 366,000 Capped Bust quarters in this final year of the series. The present near-GEM B-1 is within the lower end of the Rea, et al Condition Census. Blistering and shimmering brilliant silver surfaces gleam with untoned vibrance. Both sides are sharply struck, with the obverse showing an advanced die crack and multiple clash marks. There are no serious marks of any kind that detract from the near-GEM visual allure, and the coin is all there from a technical standpoint as well. PCGS 17, NGC 19, CAC 10. The most recent sold over four years ago for $7,750. This coin does not appear to have sold in any major auction. A memorable near-GEM that is worth more than the published levels. Good luck! Cert.
