- PHILIPPINES. Philippines - Peru. 8 Reales, ND (1834-37). Isabel II. PCGS VF-30 Gold Shield; Countermark: EF Details. KM-138.2; Basso-43; Gil Crown variety-5-4-3-III. Type VI countermark; crowned Y.II. within circular indent. Issued by decree of 20 December 1834, suppressed 31 March 1837 (By Decree of 1 February 1836). Applied to the obverse of an 1835-LIMA MT Peru Republic 8 Reales. The countermark is well punched with clear definition of the details making attribution easy. The host coin is pleasingly problem-free and endowed with pleasing gray toning displaying area of richer coloration in the protected areas that enhances the raised devices. Estimate: $200 - $300.
