- MEXICO. 8 Reales, 1772-Mo FM. Mexico City Mint. Charles III. PCGS AU-53. KM-106.1; Calico-1105; FC-52; El-76. The scarce first year of issue for the portrait series from Mexico City, with the inverted mintmark and assayers' initials. With only three better at PCGS, the current example is one of the better surviving example of the type and has memorizing blue-green toning on both sides that creates wonderful eye appeal. While the obverse shows some light wear indicative of the AU-53 grade, the reverse is closer to full Mint State, with full original semi-reflective surfaces and deep blue toning.
