- Lot 323 1802 S-241 R1 Stemless Wreath. PCGS graded AU-58+.Variety with a Stemless Wreath and Doubled Fraction Bar. Lustrous medium chocolate brown with lighter golden tan and steel brown toning in protected areas on both sides. Sharply struck and quite attractive with just a touch of friction on the highest points of the devices. The only marks are a subtle puff of slightly darker olive brown toning in the field over the hair ribbon, a few microscopic hairlines on the cheek, and a couple ticks in the field below the hair ribbon. The reverse is nearly flawless and looks mint state; the die-cutter errors are obvious. MDS, Breen state III, with die clashmarks near the rim right of the portrait and a fine die crack through OF, but no cud breaks. Graded AU55 net AU50 and tied for CC#3 in the Noyes census, his photo #36175. Bland says AU50 and tied for CC#6 in his census. Our grade is AU55.
