Mottled antique copper, steel gray, powder blue and reddish-apricot patina adorns both sides of this Gem Proof silver three-cent piece. Fully struck, this handsomely original Gem also features a mirrored finish in the fields. The 1869 trime is virtually unobtainable in circulation strike at this grade level, increasing the demand for Proofs to represent the issue in type sets and date sets.
