This awe-inspiring Superb Gem possesses an uncommon degree of field to device contrast for an issue that was produced as a Brilliant Proof. Field to device contrast is more pronounced on the obverse, where Lincoln's portrait is lightly frosted and contrasts markedly with deep mirrored reflectivity in the surrounding field. A cameo finish is also evident on the reverse, nonetheless, and both sides of further enhanced by gorgeous mint color in vivid deep orange and pinkish-rose.
