1892 Barber Dime. Proof-65 Cameo (NGC). Fully brilliant on the obverse with strong cameo contrast, the reverse brilliant at the center with sunset gold at the rim. One of 1,245 proofs produced during the first year of the design type, its first-year status no doubt an inducement to obtain specimens; never again in the series would the proof mintage figure top 1,000 pieces.
