- 1773 Virginia Halfpenny. Newman 27-J, W-1585. Rarity-2. Period After GEORGIVS, 7 Harp Strings. MS-63 BN (PCGS). 127.8 grains. A nicely struck and well centered piece with frosty medium brown surfaces enlivened by flashes of mint red in protected areas and slightly reflective luster. Only a few trivial spots and microscopic abrasions can be found under close scrutiny. Excellent overall quality, clearly above average for the grade level.
