- JAMAICA. Jamaica - Mexico. 3 Shillings 4 Pence (4 Reales - 1/2 Dollar), ND (1758). George II. PCGS F-12, Countermark: VF Details.
KM-7; Prid-5. Issued by local act of 18 November 1758. Countermark: Bifacial ornate G.R. within incuse circle. Applied to the obverse and reverse of a 1758-Mo MM Mexico "Pillar" 4 Reales of Ferdinand VI (KM-95). The RARESTdenomination from this series and always heavily sought after. The countermarks are well applied on a moderately worn host displaying rich old cabinet patina. Pleasing and original looking this charming survivor is a must have for the completionist looking to acquire a full denomination set of early Jamaican coinage.
