详细说明: Legend Rare Coin Auctions is honored to offer this Brilliant Uncirculated, lovely Mint State 1847-D half eagle that has distinct claims to the CHOICE classification, and ranks among the second HIGHEST graded at PCGS. With a mintage of 64,405, it is a relatively common date in circulated grades, and is even available in the lower AU grades. However, not only is this date EXTREMELY RARE in this lofty state of preservation, it is VERY RARELY offered! Indeed, the highest PCGS-graded 1847-D $5s offered in the last decade were two in AU58. Ultra flashy, semi-Prooflike brilliant luster radiates boldly on both sides. Rich rose and tangerine hued golden surfaces are truly a delight to behold. Sharply impressed devices stand out boldly against the field brilliance. The surfaces are generally clean, free of seriously distracting contact on either side. The eye appeal is truly intriguing and is sure to delight the advanced southern branch mint collector. PCGS 7, NGC 3. The most recent PCGS MS62 to sell was way back in 2008--that record may as well be from 1908.
