- THE GEORGE SCHWENK COLLECTION This is a fully choice and totally original 1919-D nickel. Struck from an advanced die state, with die cracks, rust, crumbling at the periphery, heavy flowlines, and bluntly defined details, which is somewhat normal for this die state. Satiny luster glows in the fields highlighting a soft rose and gold patina. The eye appeal is very intriguing thanks to this cool die state. PCGS 138, NGC 53, CAC 6. The current PCGS Price Guide value is $1,750 and the CAC CPG value is $1,950; the last one sold nearly four years ago, a record that is obsolete at this point.
